Cannot connect to my receiver

Try the following:

Make sure you enable ‘Control’ on the second page of the Onkyo Network setup menu!

On your pc choose start/run

telnet 192.168.0.99 60128 <- with the IP/port of the onkyo

Change volume of the onkyo on the device/remote control.
Do you see anything in the TELNET window? If not, your onkyo cannot be reached over the network.

If you see data, try the same on your Android Device: Download Telnet from the market , I use the Telnet app from ClockworkMod.

Try to connect to your receiver with the Telnet App:
(In ClockworkMod Telnet) change localhost to the IP of your Onkyo, change 23 in the port of the onkyo (default 60128) and press Connect to Server.

Change volume of the onkyo on the device/remote control.
Do you see anything in the TELNET window? If not, your onkyo cannot be reached over the network from your phone. If you HAVE connection the problem is in the OnkyTroller app.

    Hi,

I tried everything possible to connect your program with my android. I have an Onkyo tx-nr808. I don’t have any ethernet connected going into my router as it is about 15-20 feet away from the av receiver. I enabled my telnet on windows vista and could not open port 60128. Nor does the onkyo allow me to open port 23.it indicates that the only ports allowed are at least 5 digits. I’ve tried everything so if you want another customer please help. I have verizon fios and connected abelkin router to it so I can get the n signal. So my default address for the router is 192.168.1.2
